Johansen High softball coach Debbie Guenther said she had never seen a comeback quite like it. The Vikings were losing by three and hitless going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but there they were celebrating just minutes later.
Section Baseball: Beyer falls, must beat Turlock next
Beyer High pitcher Trey Ridenour overwhelmed batters much of this season, sending most on a quiet walk back to the dugout. That didn't seem to impress St. Mary's, as the Rams rifled shots into the gap most of the night for an 11-1 victory in the winners' bracket final of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 playoffs.
